Whilst on holy island at weekend i took pictures from around the priory and managed to get a few pictures but at the time i was there, there was some construction work so there is scaffolding evident in some of my photos. I love the tone of colours in the bricks as it is different to any of the other ruins i visited.

Ma Ke Wuyong
An artist i hope to use quite frequently within my work is Ma Ke Wuyong, as i love the effect given in her pieces and i think they look a lot like ruins. I also think the palette of colours she uses is similar to that of bricks from a castle. I also like the fact she uses discarded items and recycles them and this is something i am keen to try and do also by recycling old clothes within my work.

dunstanburgh castle
when thinking of ruins my first thought was dunstanburgh castle, a castle that is now ruins on the coast of northumberland, which i had visited in primary school. therefore i decided to revisit it and take more detailed pictures. However i was not as lucky as with kendal and as it was a nice day there were a lot of visitors at dunstanburgh. despite this i think i managed to get some good photos especially of chimneys and towers that are still situated at dunstanburgh.
